Copa Libertadores 1985

The 1985 Copa Libertadores was the 26th edition of the most important South American football competition for club teams. 21 teams took part. The national champions of the CONMEBOL countries and the runners-up took part. The field of participants was completed by defending champion CA Independiente . The tournament began on March 3 and ended on October 24, 1985 with the final playoff. The Argentine representative Argentinos Juniors won the final against América de Cali and won the Copa Libertadores for the first time .
