Copa Libertadores 1982

The 1982 Copa Libertadores was the 23rd edition of the most important South American football competition for club teams. 21 teams took part. The national champions of the CONMEBOL countries and the runners-up took part. The field of participants was completed by defending champion Flamengo Rio de Janeiro from Rio de Janeiro. The tournament began on March 7th and ended on November 30th, 1982 with the final second leg. The Uruguayan representative Club Atlético Peñarol won the final against CD Cobreloa and won the Copa Libertadores for the fourth time .
