Juan Vicente Morales (born April 18, 1956 ) is a former Uruguayan football player .

Career

society

Defensive player Morales was in 1975 in the ranks of Club Atlético Cerro . From 1977 to 1984 he was on the squad of Club Atlético Peñarol in the Primera División . In the seasons 1979 , 1981 and 1982 his club won the Uruguayan championship. In 1982 they also won the Copa Libertadores . Morales played in both finals against CD Cobreloa from the start. Morales and his club won the 1982 World Cup with a 2-0 win over Aston Villa on December 12, 1982 , in which he was also on the starting grid . In 1984 a career station in Argentina at Club Atlético Talleres is also recorded for him.

National team

Morales was a member of the Uruguayan U-20 national team , which took part in the Junior South American Championship in Peru in 1975 and won the title. During the tournament he was used by coach Walter Brienza in six games. In doing so, he scored a hit. He was also a member of the senior national team of Uruguay , for which he completed 15 internationals between June 4, 1975 and July 18, 1980 and scored an international goal. With the Celeste he took part in the Copa America 1975 under coach Juan Alberto Schiaffino and won the Copa Juan Pinto Durán in the same year and again in 1977 with Uruguay . Also at the Copa del Atlántico 1976 and as part of the qualification for the 1978 World Cup , he came to the train.
