Mahmoud Mohieldin

Mahmoud Mohieldin ( Arabic محمود محيي الدين, DMG Maḥmūd Muḥyī ad-Dīn ; Born January 15, 1965 ) is an Egyptian politician .

Life

Mahmoud Mohieldin was on the political council of the Egyptian National Democratic Party as well as in its general secretariat.

He is Professor of Economics and Political Science at Cairo University . In 1995 he wrote a dissertation on the liberalization of financial markets in developing countries at the University of Warwick . He sat on the board of directors of the Central Bank of Egypt and is chairman of the economic committee of the Egyptian National Democratic Party.

From 1996 to 2002 he was an advisor to Finance Minister Youssef Boutros Ghali . In the Nazif cabinet, he headed the Ministry of State Enterprises (later the Ministry of Investment) which, as a trust company, privatized state-owned companies and was the supervisory authority for the special economic zones . In September 2010 he became a director of the World Bank .
