style

The song was written by will.i.am, Taboo, apl.de.ap, Justin Timberlake , Ron Fair, P. Board, G. Pajon Jr, M. Fratantuno and J. Curtis. will.i.am served as co-producer. Where is the love? is written very pacifistically . The Black Eyed Peas complain about various world problems such as crime or world hunger. It should be seen as an anti-Iraq war song.

Music video

In the music video for the single, the theme of war is used as a leitmotif. Children of different nationalities are involved and sing along. Another big topic is taken up with the question “Where is love?”. This is illustrated in the video by the band members handing out stickers with a large red question mark on them. will.i.am and Taboo represent illegal scouts who drive around in their big omnibus and broadcast illegal radio waves in which they speak plain language and accuse the government . apl.de.ap is the one who distributes the said stickers and is later caught by the police. At the end of his part he asks the policeman the crucial question, namely "Where Is the Love?"
