Jaime Luis Gomez (* 14. July 1975 in Rosemead , California ), better known as Taboo , is an American rapper with Mexican-American / North American Indian -Abstammung. He became known with the hip hop group The Black Eyed Peas .

Life

His Indian ancestors were Shoshone . Taboo's father was born in Morelia , the capital of the Mexican state of Michoacán , while his mother was born in Los Angeles .

Taboo married Jaymie Dizon on July 12, 2008 in Pasadena, California. The couple have two sons and a daughter: Jimmy Jalen Gomez, born on July 19, 2009, Journey, born on April 26, 2011 and Jett, born in February 2016.

He already has a son from a previous relationship named Joshua Parish Gomez (born October 17, 1993).

Career

In 1995 he joined the two rappers will.i.am and apl.de.ap of the US hip-hop band The Black Eyed Peas , which was still Atban Klann were called and after a record label change to The Black Eyed Peas renamed were .

Gomez announced plans to open an art school for children in his home town, Rosemead , California . He also made a guest appearance in the movie "Street Fighter - The Legend of Chun-Li".
