Kim Hill

Kim Hill (* 7. August 1972 in Syracuse , New York ; actually Kimberley Marie Lockett ) is an American Soul - singer and songwriter . She became known as the voice of the Black Eyed Peas .

She separated in 2000 due to artistic differences from the Black Eyed Peas, to which Kim Hill belonged since 1995. The band developed musically in a direction that they did not want to support.

The fact that the separation was not amicable can be heard in the song The Real HipHop on their 2002 debut solo, Suga Hill .

In addition, she worked in the studio and live with artists such as No Doubt , Notorious BIG , 2Pac , OutKast , Jane's Addiction , Cody Chestnutt , Slum Village , Raphael Saadiq , Jody Watley , De La Soul , The Pharcyde , A Tribe Called Quest and Aaliyah together .

In 2006 her second solo album Pharaoes Daughter was released.
