Childhood and youth

Her father, a firefighter , has Irish and Native American ancestry and died of cancer in January 2016. Her mother worked in various office jobs and is a Filipina with Chinese and Spanish descent. Hudgens has a sister named Stella who is seven years her junior and who is also an actress. She first grew up in San Diego and then lived with her family in various locations on the US west coast.

At the age of eight, Hudgens starred in many local musicals such as Evita , Carousel , The Wizard of Oz , The King and I , The Music Man and Cinderella . On the side she took singing , dance and piano lessons . After elementary school , she attended Orange County High School of the Arts in Santa Ana . At the instigation of her parents, she received private home tuition from seventh grade onwards. After a long stay in London , she and her family moved to Los Angeles after winning an appearance in a television commercial.

2006 their property was at two million US dollars estimated. In early 2007, Hudgens was one of the top earning stars under 21 in Hollywood , according to Forbes Magazine . In the list of the richest stars under 30 published by Forbes Magazine in December 2008 , Hudgens was ranked 20th with a fortune of around three million US dollars.

In 2008, at the age of 19, she bought a house in Studio City , a borough of Los Angeles, for $ 2.75 million.

Litigation

Attorney Brian Schall sued Hudgens in 2007 for an alleged breach of contract. In return for his services as a lawyer, according to a contract signed by Hudgens, Schall was to receive a share of the profits of five percent in her singing career. Schall therefore asked for $ 150,000 after Hudgens earned over $ 5 million. Hudgens argued that she was a minor at the time the contract was signed in October 2005 and that no claims could be derived from the contract. On October 9, 2008, the lawsuit was withdrawn. However, papers filed with the court state that a minor's contract is voidable and the undersigned may be held liable.

In 2008, Hudgens was sued for $ 5 million by Johnny Vieira for allegedly owing her success in part to his management services and for abandoning her original team after becoming known around the world through high school musicals . At the beginning of May 2009 the case was closed. According to a lawyer, the dispute was resolved in an acceptable manner, but nothing is known about the exact outcome.

Scandal photos

On September 6, 2007, nude photos of Hudgens surfaced on the Internet, intended for her then boyfriend, Zac Efron . A press spokesman confirmed that the photos were private and that it was regrettable that the photos were published on the Internet. Hudgens later apologized publicly, saying she was very embarrassed and regretful for taking these photos.

It was speculated in the media that Hudgens would not get a role in the third part of the high school musical series because of this incident . Disney stuck with her for High School Musical 3: Senior Year , and she vindicated that she had learned a valuable lesson from it.

“I'm much better now. But truthfully I don't like talking about it. It was something that was meant to be private, and even though it isn't anymore, I'd still like to keep it as private as I can. It was very traumatic, and I am extremely upset it happened. I hope all my fans can learn from my mistake and make smart decisions. But I wouldn't have been able to get through it if it wasn't for my family, friends, and fans, who supported me all along the way. ”

“I feel a lot better now. But, frankly, I don't like to talk about it. It was something that was meant for personal use, and even if it isn't anymore, I still try to keep it private as much as possible. It was very traumatic and I am very upset about what happened. I hope my fans can learn from my mistake and make smart decisions. However, I wouldn't have been able to get through if my family, friends and fans hadn't supported me on this path. "
