Kristen Anne Bell (born July 18, 1980 in Detroit , Michigan ) is an American film actress , best known for her leading role in the US television series Veronica Mars .

Life

Bell completed an acting education at the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University . Bell made her film debut in 2001 in the comedy Pootie Tang with comedian Chris Rock in the lead role. She was also in several Broadway - musicals to see.

By 2004, Bell had guest appearances in several television series and starred in several television films . 2004 Bell made a breakthrough with a starring role in David Mamet film Spartan alongside Val Kilmer . In the fall of 2004, the TV series Veronica Mars started on the US television station UPN with Bell in the lead role. Due to good reviews and a large fan base, a total of three seasons were produced until May 22, 2007, before the series was finally canceled. For this leading role Bell received a Saturn Award (Best Actress on Television) in 2006 .

From 2007 to 2008, Bell was part of the main cast of the television series Heroes . Since 2012, Bell has been part of the main cast of the Showtime television series House of Lies as Jeannie Van Der Hooven , which revolves around a team of unconventional management consultants . Based on the title of the series, Bell shot the short film Kristen Bell's Body of Lies for the video portal funny or die , in which she claims that her body is covered with hundreds of tattoos that are lavishly covered before each film shoot.

Kristen Bell also attracted attention with an appearance on the US talk show by Ellen DeGeneres , on which she confessed that she was very emotional. As proof, she then presented a birthday video. As a result , the Bell video received almost 10 million views on YouTube within a month.

Bell has been a vegetarian since she was eleven . In 2006 she was voted World's Sexiest Vegetarian by PETA's annual voting . She has been vegan since 2012 .

Since separating from her long-time boyfriend, film producer Kevin Mann, in 2007, Bell has been in a relationship with actor Dax Shepard and married him in October 2013. The two have two daughters.
