Joshua "Josh" Gad (born February 23, 1981 in Hollywood , Florida ) is an American actor .

Life

His father is a Jewish emigrant from Afghanistan , his mother is an Ashkenazi Jew. Josh was raised Jewish , but he is not religious. In 1999 he finished high school. He completed his studies in drama , which he completed at Carnegie Mellon College , in 2003 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts .

Although Gad appeared in the film Mary and Joe in 2002 and in an episode of Emergency Room in 2005 , he has only been on television regularly since 2007. In 2007 he was rather unusual in the films Love - A Relationship with Obstacles and Angiralus - Seeing you tears to pieces . From 2007 to 2008 he also played the role of Ryan Church in the series Back to You . In 2008 he played a supporting role in the film 21 and a leading role in The Rocker - Full of the (S) Hit . After appearances in American Dad and two series of Numbers - The logic of the crime Gad 2009 played within the Internet Horror - Comedy series Woke Up Dead , directed by Tim O'Donnell with. The following year he starred in Love and Other Drugs - Side Effects Included . Between 2010 and 2011 came guest appearances in Californication , Modern Family and The Daily Show . In 2020 he initiated the Reunited Apart series on his YouTube channel, in which the casts of famous films (including The Lord of the Rings (film trilogy) and Goonies ) meet again via video conference. The background to the video meeting is the curfew in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. The proceeds from the Reunited Apart series go to charitable purposes.

Josh Gad has been married to television actress and producer Ida Darvish since May 2008 and has two daughters with her.
