Emma Rose Roberts (born February 10, 1991 in Rhinebeck , New York ) is an American actress , model and singer . She became known for the role of Addie Singer in the television series Unfabulous , which she impersonated from 2004 to 2007.

Emma Roberts was born in Rhinebeck, New York, the daughter of actor Eric Roberts . Her parents weren't married to each other. She has two half-siblings from her father's marriage to Eliza Roberts , and a half-sister from her mother Kelly's marriage. Emma's aunt is the actress Julia Roberts . Emma Roberts currently lives in Los Angeles and was in a relationship with Chord Overstreet from July 2011 to February 2012, and with Evan Peters from mid-2012 to mid-2015 . Their relationship came into the focus of public attention when Roberts was briefly detained in police custody for domestic violence. The couple later announced that it was a major misunderstanding. No charges were brought. Roberts has been in a relationship with actor Garrett Hedlund since April 2019 .

Career

Emma Roberts visited her aunt Julia Roberts and her father at their respective locations at an early age and thus became aware of the acting. Although her mother initially opposed her daughter's film career, Roberts made her debut in Ted Demme's film Blow in 2001 .

From September 2004 she worked in the Nickelodeon series Unfabulous and gained fame with the role of Addie Singer . For her portrayal she was nominated for the Teen Choice Award , several times for the Young Artist Award and for the Kids' Choice Award 2007 . Since Roberts' alter ego both sings and plays guitar in the series, the station soon planned a parallel career in the music business for the actress. In doing so, he followed the concept that had already led to success with Hilary Duff , Lindsay Lohan and Miley Cyrus . In February 2009, Roberts was named Brand Ambassador for Neutrogena, appearing in print and television advertising for the company.

She has appeared on Teen Vogue's best clothes list several times , including June 2007, September 2008, December 2008 and February 2009.

In 2011, like in 2009, Roberts advertised a skin cream in the US . In the film It's Kind of a Funny Story , she played a teenager in a psychiatric hospital. She also appeared in the fourth part of the Scream series, alongside Hayden Panettiere . She took on the role of the cousin of the previous main character Sidney Prescott ( Neve Campbell ). In September 2011, the romantic comedy From the art of cheating through came into German cinemas, in which Roberts can be seen in the lead role together with Freddie Highmore . In early August 2013 she took on a leading role alongside Jennifer Aniston and Jason Sudeikis in the comedy We Are the Millers .

From October 2013 to January 2015 she is a regular cast of the FX - horror series American Horror Story . She embodied the role of Madison Montgomery in the third season and Maggie Esmerelda in the fourth . Then she took the lead role of Chanel Oberlin in the Horror - Comedy - TV series Scream Queens . The series has been broadcast on Fox television since September 2015 . In 2017, she returned as a guest star for the seventh season of American Horror Story and returned to leading roles in the eighth and ninth seasons .

As an avid reader, she founded her book club on Instagram in March 2017 with the title Belletrist .

In September 2018, Emma Roberts became the spokesperson of a new FIAT USA advertising campaign, in which she refuted some prejudices from social networks in amusing episodes.
