Rhinebeck is located in northwest Dutchess County in New York , United States . In 2010 the city of Rhinebeck had 7548 inhabitants. The Village of Rhinebeck is also located within the urban area .

According to the United States Census Bureau , the city has a total area of ​​103.2 km², of which 93.9 km² is land and 9.2 km² (= 8.96%) is water. US Highway 9 runs through the urban area.

To the west, Rhinebeck borders Ulster County ; the border runs in the Hudson River . The other neighbors are in Dutchess County: Red Hook in the north, Milan and Clinton in the east and Hyde Park in the south.

At the time of the United States Census 2000, the city of Rhinebeck was inhabited by 7762 people. The population density was 82.7 people per km 2 . There were 3,255 housing units, an average of 34.7 per km 2 . The population was 92.50% white , 3.61% African American , 0.09% Indigenous American, and 1.37% Asian . 1.17% said they belonged to other "races" (in the sense of the United States Census ) and 1.26% named two or more "races". 3.94% of the population declared to be Hispanic or Latino of any “race”.
