1970: At the Camp Redwood holiday camp , three supervisors are intimate with each other when a stranger enters the hut, in which several young people are sleeping. He kills everyone present, he scattered their corpses all over the hut. When you leave, you can see a jingling key chain on his belt and a necklace made from human ears.

Fourteen years later, in 1984, Montana Duke, Ray Powell, Chet Clancy and Brooke Thompson meet in an aerobics studio where Xavier Plympton is teaching a class. Montana and Brooke start a conversation in the locker room and the young woman is introduced to the others who already know each other. Xavier invites the group to Camp Redwood , where he plans to work as a supervisor over the summer. He hopes to distance himself from Los Angeles and the angry serial killer Richard Ramirez alias Nightstalker . College student Brooke is then attacked by a satanist in her apartment and relieved of her jewelry. The young man pretends to be the Nightstalker and wants to haunt her again before he escapes the apartment. She joins the others and in Xavier's van, where there is alcohol and amphetamines , they go on the journey to the camp. The well-trained Chet actually wanted to stay away from drugs because steroid abuse had cost him a nomination for the US Olympic team, but out of frustration he still reaches for the tube. During a refueling stop, Xavier listens to his answering machine on a payphone, on which a stranger has left him a threatening message letting him know that he knows his whereabouts. The gas station owner warns the young people about the camp, which should never have opened again.

A little later, Xavier almost runs over a neglected young man who lies injured on the roadside and is taken to the camp for further care. Once at the camp, the new owner Margaret Booth puts the injured in Sister Rita's care and guides the newcomers across the site. Margaret, who reopened the camp together with cook Bertie, was able to fall back on the life insurance of her late husband Walter to create a refuge for young people according to their strictly conservative Christian worldview. In the evening everyone sits around a campfire and Rita tells the story from 1970. A dishonorable discharged Vietnam veteran named Benjamin Richter, called Mr. Jingles , would have murdered 10 young people and removed their ears as trophies. Margaret corrects her employee because she was there, survived and proves it with her missing left ear. As a key witness , she would then have testified against Richter, which brought him to a psychiatric facility for the rest of his life. Margaret warns her staff not to scare the guests arriving the next day with the story.

The injured hiker wakes up in the infirmary and finds that he is missing an ear. Brooke, who wants to check on him, is warned that reopening camp was a bad idea and that bad things would happen. When the group is sitting together with a few beers in their servants' hut, Trevor Kirchner, the camp's animator , appears . Montana, who thinks she has seen him before, is informed by him that he was originally part of an old fitness video by and with Jane Fonda . He would have been cut out, however, as his large penis would have drawn Jane's attention. Later, Montana and the well-stocked Trevor get closer in the lake belonging to the camp, but are driven out of the water by an approaching storm and a car parked on the bank whose headlights come on.

In a mental hospital nearby, the chief doctor, Dr. Hopple informs that Benjamin Richter has fled the institution. He had faked his suicide by hanging with a trick, then overpowered a carer and with the help of his keys could leave the building. In the cell, Hopple finds a newspaper clipping promoting the reopening of Camp Redwood . Roy, the gas station owner, is working under a car when Richter enters the garage. The escaped psychopath removes the jack and crushes Roy under the heavy vehicle. Then he takes the man's car keys and drives his truck towards the camp. While the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Los Angeles is being watched on television at the camp , the angry Chet inadvertently injures his friend Ray by the hand with a beer can. Brooke agrees to check for bandages in the infirmary, but only finds the impaled hiker. She managed to escape the judge who suddenly appeared, but when she and the others returned to the scene, there was no trace of either the judge or the corpse. Later Brooke, who cannot fall asleep, goes outside to a payphone that rings continuously - although, according to the dead walker, their connections are cut. When she picks up, she only hears the jingling of keys and does not notice the Nightstalker watching her from a safe distance.

Dr. Karen Hopple drives to Redwood to inform and warn Margaret of Mr. Jingles' escape. But Margaret shows the psychiatrist her gun and declares that she is not afraid of the demon from her past. By using a crow's foot , a rear tire on Hopple's station wagon suffers a flat tire on the way back, but shortly afterwards a tow truck appears behind her. The driver turns out to be a judge and pulls the woman out of her car, stabs her and cuts off her ear. Meanwhile, in the camp, the murder of gas station owner Roy is already being reported on TV, but apparently only Brooke, who is still shocked by the call, recognizes the man. Margaret disrupts the party and persuades the men to leave the women's hut and take a shower to "wash themselves free of their sins".

Brooke, who is left alone with Montana, tells him a story from last summer. She was already standing in front of the altar with her long-time friend Joey when, instead of saying yes, he suddenly paused and turned to their mutual friend Sam. He accused the one he had seen at Brooke's the night before of cheating on her. Brooke and Sam denied the allegations, but Joey drew a revolver and shot first Sam and then his future father-in-law. The wedding party fled the church and the couple was left alone. Eventually Joey shot himself. Montana then tries to kiss Brooke, who turns away and walks outside.

On the way to the showers, Trevor reports on his experience with Montana and tells the other men that from now on she would be reserved for him. Xavier separates from the others to get his towel when he is suddenly grabbed from behind and pushed into the back seat of a car. Next to him is his cousin Blake, who had also represented him as an acting agent. But on the way up, Xavier has only been able to land one role in gay porn - the price of his rescue by Blake after a heroin overdose. Blake tries to persuade his cousin to shoot more porn and threatens him otherwise to send the tape of his first film to Xavier's friends. Xavier leads Blake to the showers, where the man who is supposed to replace him in the movies can see Trevor. Blake observes the naked Trevor through a peephole, Xavier sneaks away and a few moments later Blake Richter's blade falls victim as well.

Brooke is sitting alone on a jetty at the lake when suddenly a corpse is washed ashore at her feet and nighstalker Richard Ramírez appears. He attacks the young woman, but his blade gets stuck in the boardwalk, allowing Brooke to escape. On the hunt for Brooke, the actually dead, but now living hiker stands in his way, who is killed by Ramírez. Shortly afterwards their paths cross again and again the Nightstalker stabs the man. He takes his camp ID card, which identifies him as a supervisor named "Jonas". Meanwhile, Brooke tries to get help from one of the telephones, but the line is dead and when Montana shows up, the two are startled by Ray's cries for help. The group meets at the showers and discovers Blake's body with an ear missing.

Margaret receives a visit from Ramírez, who comes out as a disciple of Satan and asks the superintendent to inform him about Jonas. The believing Margaret blames God for Jonah's return to the living and asks Richard what is the worst that has ever happened to him. The Nightstalker tells of his not exactly sheltered childhood. The father was irascible and brutal and showed no consideration for his weak son, who had suffered from seizures again and again since an accident on the swing. The boy's only stop was his cousin Mike, a former green beret who served in Vietnam . Mike kept showing his little cousin photos from the war, enemies killed and civilians raped by him. Young Richard was also there when Mike shot his wife Jessie in an argument. Ramírez begins to like Margaret, who listens to him like no one before, and she asks him not to kill anyone anymore and to protect the camp from Mr. Jingles .

Xavier and his friends, frightened, head to his van to leave the premises. But suddenly Rita, on the run from Richter, runs into the parking lot, Xavier has to avoid her and rams the car into Margaret's jeep. Since the van is no longer ready to drive, the group splits up to look for Rita's car keys in the infirmary and Trevor's motorcycle keys in the male caregiver's hut. Margaret meets her ex-comrade Jonas outside, who thinks he is still in 1970. He tells Margaret that he watched the murders and fled to get help. But Richter would have run into him in a truck and murdered him. Jonas, who appears to be a ghost, is now tied to the camp after Xavier and the others brought him back. While Trevor, Xavier and Montana are in the men's barracks and the rest in the infirmary, strangers knock on the doors of the huts.

One of the strangers turns out to be Ramírez and through a window he enters the hut. However, Rita, Ray, Brooke and Chet manage to escape from him. At the other hut, Mr. Jingles appears to be throwing a burning bag of feces through a window, which Trevor escapes. Outside it is revealed that there are two young men in costumes that are modeled on the killer, who are celebrating the "day of the massacre". Then the real killer appears and gets rid of his two "opponents", the two men and women save themselves while Chet and Ray run towards the adjacent forest, Rita and Brooke to the parking lot. Rita wants to wait there while Brooke is supposed to get help from the nurse with the car. But the black girl plays a double game and puts an injection on Brooke's neck. Richter meets another doppelganger in the woods, but he is quite drunk and thinks the killer is one of his friends. Surprised, Richter spares the boy.

A week earlier, in a flashback, we see Rita, who is really called Donna Chambers, with Dr. Hobble. The psychology student wanted to speak to the mass murderer Benjamin Richter, who had been imprisoned for 14 years and was incarcerated in Hobbles' clinic, for research. During a one-to-one conversation, Donna manipulated the traumatized man in her favor, leading him to believe that no one was born bad and that both the media and involvement in wars like in Vietnam would turn peaceful men into ice-cold killers. She gave him to understand that she hoped to decipher the "killer gene" through him and thus make him the last mass murderer. The plan to fake his own death by hanging and to flee the clinic, where a leather coat and a machete were waiting for judges in a bush, came from Donna herself.

Then Donna followed the "real" sister Rita to Roy's gas station, where she hid in her car while the young woman was on the toilet. On the way to the camp, Donna overwhelmed Rita and assumed her identity from then on. Back in the present, the Nightstalker has picked up the track of Chet and Ray, who can escape him, but fall into a pit filled with sharp stakes. While Ray remains unharmed, his friend ends up in the middle of the stakes and is impaled on the shoulder by one, but does not die. In his helplessness, Ray tells his friend a story that happened recently. An initiation ritual took place in his student union, in which one of the participants wanted to give up and took Ray aside. The heavily drunk Asian stumbled, however, without any outside influence and fell down a flight of stairs, whereupon he lay lifeless. Ray wanted to cover up the boy's death and put him in a car in a clearing. While he was pushing the car to throw it down a cliff, the unconscious boy suddenly woke up, but it was already too late and he and the car fell down the cliff.

Finally Ray manages to free himself from the pit and leaves Chet, who is bleeding profusely, behind. Meanwhile, Xavier, Trevor and Montana have escaped to a shed in which they find their sister Rita, bound and gagged, amid fishing gear. The young woman screams in fear and is pushed out of hiding, whereupon Jingles shows up and kills her, but the others are not discovered. When the killer moves away, the young people discover the name tag on Rita's top and recognize the other Rita as a cheater. Trevor hands over his motorcycle keys to Ray, who has meanwhile also arrived, who is supposed to get help and take Montana with him.

Xavier and Trevor hear Chet's cries for help and free their friend from his predicament. When they think they hear jingles , they lie in wait for him behind a tree and Trevor pushes the man into the pit. However, when they discover a plastic mask on the edge of the pit, it dawns on them that they have only killed one more doppelganger. When Ray and Montana themselves arrive at the parking lot, Richard suddenly appears and Ray uses the moment of confusion to drive off alone and leave his girlfriend alone with the killer. But after a few meters, Richter's arm with the machete suddenly appears out of the dark and beheads the motorcycling Ray. For her part, Montana wrestles briefly with Ramírez, but suddenly begins to kiss the man hard. Then she asks him why he hasn't killed you yet.

A flashback shows that Richard and Montana met in a men's aerobics class run by Montana. After the class, Ramírez waited for the woman in the locker room and presented her with a mutilated corpse hung from the ceiling. Both of them, visibly aroused, kissed and then had sex on the floor of the locker room. Richard, who admitted not to have committed his first murder, was asked by Montana to kill again for her. Sam, who was shot by Brooke's near-husband, was Montana's brother. The fitness instructor blamed Brooke for the death of the person she was closest to and wanted to see her die now.

In Redwood , Xavier goes to the canteen to save the cook Bertie. When Bertie wants to make sandwiches for the man, Richter announces himself and Xavier hides under a table. The cook knows the killer from before and offers to make him a peanut butter and jam sandwich. While eating jingles with pleasure, Xavier tries to crawl out from under the table on the other side, but makes a noise that makes the killer sit up and take notice. He stabs Bertie several times and locks the young man in an oven that he sets to 260 ° C. Meanwhile, after she has awakened from Donna's stupor, Brooke falls into the trap of her enemy again and is caught in a trawl net suspended from a tree. When Ramírez and Montana appear, the latter finally senses the chance for revenge, but the approaching judge interferes.

The two men fight a life and death fight in the course of which Jingles is severely cut by Richard's knife. Ultimately, however, the older one can grab the younger one and impale it on a branch that rams through Ramírez's head from behind. Both Brooke and her adversary managed to escape during the fight, while Donna remains unconscious. A seriously injured Bertie is able to remove the wooden spoon that is blocking the door of the oven and free Xavier. The man, who sustained several severe burns, granted the sufferer's wish and killed her with a stab in the heart. Jingles is now entering Margaret's hut. In another flashback, you can watch the 10 years younger versions of the two how they got closer. Both overseers and guests regularly ridiculed the two as "freaks". The man who carved a little bear out of wood for the young woman promised to protect her from anything that threatened her.

Margaret reveals to Richter that it was she who committed the murders back then in revenge for the humiliations. Jingles , who did not protect her, was arrested for the murders and admitted to a psychiatric ward. There he had to endure electroshock treatments, among other things, and was made docile with medication until he believed what Margaret was telling everyone. Margaret shoots the killer with her revolver, who collapses when hit. Suddenly Trevor, who heard the shots, appears and is stabbed by Margaret. He too had been one of those who bullied the young woman. Xavier meets Mr. Jingles on a bridge , but when Brooke joins them, the killer is gone. The two meet with Brooke, Montana, Margaret and Chet at the showers. There is still Blake's car, which was supposed to serve as an escape vehicle, but has now caught fire and is burning. Donna, who wakes up from her swoon, witnesses how an unnatural force brings Ramirez back to life.

In 1980, Donna followed her father, who was with a young woman, to his house. Inside she discovered the cruelly mutilated woman who was doomed to die on a bed. Her father, who suddenly appeared, explained to his daughter that it had not been his first murder and that he had long wanted to kill. Finally, before Donna's eyes, he straightened himself out. Ramírez explains to Donna in the presence that Satan sent him back to the living and let him see everything the woman did. Meanwhile the group of survivors splits up, Margaret wants to cross the lake with the injured Chet in a boat. Arrived in the middle of the lake, Margaret attacks the man to get rid of him. Chet fights back bravely, but is pulled into the depths with the help of the boat anchor that Margaret wraps around his foot.

Donna meets Montana and Xavier, who she admits to manipulating and controlling judges. The burnt victim Xavier wants to attack the woman, but she escapes from the hut and Xavier runs after her. Donna meets Richter, who is now fed up with killing. She asks the man for forgiveness and redemption through death, but the killer refuses and leaves the black woman to her own devices. When the judge meets Margaret at the archery range, Xavier appears. He grabs a bow and shoots several arrows at the man, who ultimately lies where he is and dies. But the rescued Margaret in turn pushes Xavier to the ground and stabs him. Richard enters the square and asks Satan to bring jingles back to the realm of the living.

Brooke meets Ray, who was previously thought to be missing. The two get intimate and have sex in the cafeteria. Brooke then reveals to the man that he has just deflowered her. A look into a refrigerator reveals Ray's severed head. It dawns on the two of them that Ray has died and has returned as a ghost. The shocked Brooke escapes from the cafeteria and meets Montana, who finally reveals herself to her enemy. The two women fight a long life and death struggle until it is light. When the long-awaited bus with the children turns up at the camp, visitors witness Brooke kneeling on Montana and killing her with a knife.

A little later, the site is teeming with emergency services. Brooke is charged and arrested as a mad mass murderer with the help of Margaret's testimony. Ray is cared for by a stressed emergency doctor who cannot take a pulse while taking his blood pressure, but still puts him in an ambulance to take him away. However, it then becomes clear that he, like the other ghosts, is unable to leave Camp Redwood . Ramírez and Richter, on the other hand, are under the protection of Satan and after the murder of a police officer, they can drive unmolested in his car towards Los Angeles.

A year after the events in Redwood , Ramírez and Richter form a killer duo. They live in motels and prefer to target tourists who fall victim to them. But Richter has had enough of Richard, his antics and his preference for Billy Idol and wants to break away from him. At a kiosk he draws the attention of passers-by to Ramírez's mug shot in the newspaper and advises them that the killer is about to leave the kiosk. A hunt takes place, which Richter can evade undisturbed and remove with one of the two stolen vehicles. The nighstalker is eventually arrested.

Three years later, all kinds of ghosts are still trapped in the camp. Xavier and Montana have fun distracting ignorant hikers in their human-appearing guise and ultimately killing them. Ray and other former employees don't like this at all. Margaret was meanwhile able to sell her lies profitably and is now active in the real estate sector. Her main focus is on places where famous killers like John Wayne Gacy or Charles Manson have been up to mischief, which she turns into horror hotels. Trevor, who survived, made an agreement with the former camp leader while still in bed. In return for his silence about the truth, they lead a purpose-related marriage, which also guarantees him a share in Margaret's assets.

Chet, one of Margaret's victims, is visibly angry when he sees Margaret, Trevor and their secretary on a stage in the camp. The woman intends to reopen her old place of work for the second time and is planning a concert for the inauguration, at which Billy Idol will also perform. The imprisoned Ramírez is also informed of this by a young woman with whom he corresponds from the prison. Richter, who now calls himself Donald and works in a video store, also gets to know the plan. He lives in a small house with a former prostitute and even became a father. In her cell on the Deathrow, Brooke receives an offer via telepathy from Ramírez, who is imprisoned in the same wing, who offers her to make a pact with Satan and thus gain freedom. But the young woman refuses and is ultimately led to her execution.

Brooke is said to lose her life through lethal injection and Margaret and Trevor are among the few spectators. At the same time Richard asks the help of his master, who after a short waiting time shows up in the form of fog in the cell. The demon takes possession of a guard who works on death row, who unlocks Richard's cell and enables him to escape. When the staff and the spectators have left the place of execution, the executioner turns out to be Donna, who brings Brooke back to life with another syringe. Richter returns from work to find his wife executed in the bedroom. His son is alive, but there is a note attached to him that can only come from Ramirez and that announces Satan's vengeance. Richard leaves the baby in the care of his future sister-in-law and is forced to go back to Mr. Jingles with the help of his old coat and a bunch of keys .

In 1948, Redwood was still called Camp Golden Star . The brothers Benjamin and Bobby Richter, whose mother Lavinia worked there as a cook, spent the summer there. But Benjamin was more preoccupied with reading comics than making friends with other children. When the two brothers went to the lake to bathe, Ben left his brother on the jetty to watch the lifeguard and a young woman secretly foreplay. When he got back to the lake, his brother, whom he was supposed to keep an eye on, was already in the water and submerged. Benjamin's screams didn't help when two men suddenly drove off with their outboard and caught Bobby with it. The shocked Lavinia screamed out her pain and blamed everyone, especially Ben, for the death of her youngest.

Donna and Brooke arrive at a motel where the psychologist weaned those who had been freed from the substance she had brought back to life for a few days. After the rehab ends, Brooke sees an ad for Margaret's Festival in a newspaper and makes plans to return to Redwood for revenge. She complains to Donna that she missed the prime of the eighties and only has one meaning in life. The black woman goes to a roller skating rink with her new friend, where Brooke is in a better mood. On the way to their car they are approached by a man named Bruce, but they get rid of him. But when the engine of Donna's car won't start, Bruce helps them and is allowed to drive towards Redwood as a thank you , because he wants to visit his girlfriend nearby.

In the course of the journey Bruce turns out to be a bad liar who, to top it all, seems to know the two women. When they stop on a hard shoulder to throw the man out of the car, a police car approaches. The cop wants to do an ID check, but Bruce shoots him. When he fires again and leaves the car, Donna accelerates and the two women flee. Richter has meanwhile arrived at the camp, but is captured by a group of doppelgangers and taken to Xavier's group. They tell him about a woman in white who often hunts them full of hatred. Ben tells the story from 1948. After his brother's death, Lavinia went insane and murdered everyone in the camp. When she wanted to kill her remaining son, he fled, but was wounded by her knife. In a short fight he was able to take the knife and stab his mother. Her blood would have seeped into the earth and poisoned the entire area.

In her old hut, Lavinia shows herself to her grown son. She tells him about her torments of never-ending rebirth and that it was she who made Margaret with her powers a murderer. According to her, "the wrong son" would have died and Benjamin's child would be better off without his father. Meanwhile, Bruce managed to catch up with the two women with the stolen patrol car and to ram their car at a traffic light. Brooke wakes up next to Bruce in a stolen pickup with Donna tied to the bumper with a rope. The man tries to force her to drive off, but Brooke puts the car into reverse, can dup Bruce and shoot him with his pistol. Together, the two women tie him to a power pole and cut off both thumbs, then they head towards the camp. There Trevor and Montana meet again and Ramírez kills Kajagoogoo , the first band that is already there. At the landing stage, Lavinia brings Ben to kill himself in order not to fall victim to Ramírez and thus risk not being able to be reborn.

Shortly before Halloween 1989, Brooke and Donna are still on their way to Redwood . At a diner they are watched by Stacy, a journalist, who discovers that the woman who is with Donna bears an amazing resemblance to Brooke Thompson. Coincidentally, all three of them live in the same motel, and upon viewing a video showing Brooke's escape from prison, Stacy reveals that he knows the real identities of the other two. Donna and Brooke agree to take Stacy with them and lead them to the scene of the murders, as well as to provide her with evidence of Margaret's guilt. Bruce is on the same path and stole the car of a real estate agent, the woman herself is tied up in the trunk.

On a forest path he hitchhikes the hitchhiking ghost of Jonas, but the journey comes to an abrupt end when Richard and Richter, who are fighting with each other, suddenly appear on the path and Bruce drives jingles . He introduces himself to the visibly angry Ramírez as a “big fan”, shows him the woman who has meanwhile been stabbed in the trunk and says that he still hasn't had enough. Together they can track down judge again, who is informed that he is now trapped in Redwood and Ramírez can no longer prevent the murder of his son.

Margaret, meanwhile, discovers that the band Kajagoogoo, which should have performed at their festival, was murdered in their tour bus. The bus is littered with pentagrams, which suggests Ramírez was the murderer. Annoyed, she instructs her assistant Courtney to clean up the mess. Meanwhile, Trevor is busy with Montana, who is happy about the change to sleep with a living person, but finds it difficult to reciprocate Trevor's feelings. In the boat shed in which Brooke awoke from Donna's stupor in 1984, she is now with the journalist and asks her to close her eyes so that she can also better imagine the images from the past. Just as Brooke is about to hold a knife at Stacy's throat, Donna intervenes and the reporter is able to flee. However, she runs into the killer trio Margaret, Bruce and Richard and exhales her life. The three decide to kill all musicians, except for Billy Idol, after their performances.

Trevor confesses his love for Montana and suggests that they commit suicide in order to be with her forever in his current state and spirit. But the young woman can only have a relationship with someone who is just as sick as she is and chases away her admirer. Xavier and two young men formerly disguised as jingles torment Richter's spirit, wound him badly and finally let him drift to the center of the lake on a boat, bleeding and tied up. There he is suddenly drawn down by the spirit of his brother. He wakes up on land and meets his brother and mother, who invite him to a picnic. His mother Lavinia wants him to stay with them.

In 2019 a 30-year-old man came to Redwood , who found remnants of Margaret's Festival there. Then he meets Montana, which is fascinated by the smartphone he uses to take pictures. When she warns him to leave the camp immediately, he insists on staying and finding answers; he imagines Montana as Bobby Richter, son of Benjamin. Then Trevor joins them and both he and Montana are killed by their own hands using weapons Bobby has with him. But shortly afterwards they are back at the door and prove to their new acquaintance that they are ghosts. Then they tell him what happened on Halloween in 1989. Trevor, to whom Courtney had told of the fate of Kajagoogoo, blocked the entrance to the camp with their bus and thus prevented the guests from entering the premises. So Margaret first shot her incompetent assistant and finally fired several shots at her husband, who, however, was now outside the camp and was thus doomed to die.

Brooke suddenly appeared under the eyes of the helpless Montana and helped the seriously injured man to the camp, where he bled to death in Montana's arms and was finally born again. In the end, they took care of Bruce, whose dying body they still evacuated from the site, and then killed Ramirez together with the rest of the group. So from then on they had control over his body, which was brought back to life again and again, in order to kill him again and again. But Bobby, who is saved again and again from Richard who wants to collect Satan's debt, insists on finding his father. Meanwhile, the Nightstalker can break free while Bertie and Chet cuddle together and visit Bobby. On his escape, the devotee of Satan injures him with his knife, but Ramirez is prevented from killing Richter's son, who goes to the institution where his father was imprisoned.

There he meets the new director, Donna, who tells him what happened to the real culprit, Margaret. The group, accompanied by Donna and Brooke, surrounded their hut and attacked them, with Brooke being killed by a shot from Margaret's pistol. The ghosts gradually dismembered Margaret and threw her body parts into a garden shredder, which transported the remains over a fence into neutral territory, which prevented them from returning. Together, Donna and Bobby find out that Brooke survived, has a family and has anonymously sent Richter's son money over the years. Ray found her badly injured, carried her to the border and called an ambulance over the camper phone.

Against the warnings, Bobby returns to camp and finally meets his father, who can save him briefly from Margaret, whose brain died on the right side. Then his grandmother Lavinia comes to his aid, who in turn clears Margaret out of the way. When he leaves the camp, he can say goodbye to his father, grandmother and uncle Bobby.
