Sarah Paulson
Sarah Catharine Paulson (born December 17, 1974 or 1975 in Tampa , Florida ) is an American actress and director and Golden Globe and Emmy Award winner.
life and career
Paulson grew up in the US state of Maine and in New York City . She studied at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and the Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts. She made her debut in the play The Sisters Rosensweig . In 1994 she got a small role in the television series Law & Order .
Paulson starred in the film Was Frauen Wollen (2000) alongside Mel Gibson and Helen Hunt , in the film Down with Love. (2003) alongside Renée Zellweger and Ewan McGregor . She was also in the television series American Gothic - Prince of Darkness (1995), Jack & Jill (1999) and Metropolis (2001). In the series Leap of Faith (2002) she played the main role. She appeared as a guest in the television series Deadwood (2005). From March 2005 she played the role of Laura in one of the Broadway theaters in the play The Glass Menagerie by Tennessee Williams .
Paulson has played in the US series American Horror Story since 2011 . In the first season Murder House , she was still a supporting actress, but in the following seven seasons Asylum , Coven , Freak Show , Hotel , Roanoke , Cult and Apocalypse as the leading role was always part of the regular cast. In 2013 she was seen in the cinema in the role of Mistress Epps in 12 Years a Slave . For her series role as Marcia Clark in the first season of American Crime Story , she won an Emmy for Best Actress in a Miniseries or a TV Movie, and a Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Awards in the same category in 2017 .
In 2017 she was accepted into the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), which awards the Oscars every year.
In mid-2019 it was announced that Sarah Paulson would not appear in the ninth season of American Horror Story for the first time. In early 2020, Sarah Paulson was confirmed as the first leading actress for the tenth season of the series.
Sarah Paulson dated actress Cherry Jones from 2005 to 2009 . She has been in a relationship with actress Holland Taylor since 2015 .
