Trübbach is a village in the political municipality of Wartau in the St. Gallen Rhine Valley .

population

The village has 1353 inhabitants and is 479 m above sea level. The Reformed population is looked after by the Evangelical Reformed parish of Azmoos-Trübbach from Azmoos . The Catholic faithful are organized in the parish of Wartau, whose church is between Trübbach and Azmoos.

Geography and traffic

The village borders on Balzers , Principality of Liechtenstein , and is on the Chur – Rorschach railway line and on the A13 . The landscape is shaped by the Rhine and the local mountain Gonzen . The older part of the village lies directly on the Rhine. The old Schollbergstrasse from Trübbach to Sargans , completed in 1492, is the first federal driveway. It has been restored and has been accessible as a hiking trail since 2014.

Culture and economy

The Schollberg quarry is located on the territory . The Fastnachtsgesellschaft Weingeister Trübbach is a member of the Alemannic Narrenring .

Personalities
