Feud - The Enmity Between Bette and Joan is an American television series directed by Ryan Murphy , Jaffe Cohen and Michael Zam .
production
The series was originally intended to use a format where each season had a new cast and storyline, which is commonly referred to as an anthology series. Comparable anthology series are American Horror Story , True Detective or Fargo . Each season should address complicated relationships between well-known personalities here.
The first season focuses on the rivalry between Bette Davis and Joan Crawford during and after the filming of What Really Happened To Baby Jane? . The main actors here are Jessica Lange as Joan Crawford and Susan Sarandon as Bette Davis.
Even before the first episode was broadcast, a second season was commissioned, which was originally intended to address the relationship between Prince Charles and Princess Diana . In August 2018, however, it was announced that this idea had since been discarded because they were not satisfied with the quality of the scripts and the story.
In May 2019 it was announced that the planning of a second season would not be continued until further notice.
Cast and dubbing
The German synchronization was for dialogue books by Peter Minges and Markus Engelhardt under the dialogue director of Minges by the synchronous company Arena synchronous GmbH in Berlin.

Litigation
On June 30, 2017, Olivia de Havilland filed a lawsuit against broadcaster FX and Ryan Murphy. The portrayal of her person by Catherine Zeta-Jones aroused de Havilland's displeasure. In one scene, Zeta-Jones, in her role as Olivia de Havilland, makes derogatory comments about her sister, the actress Joan Fontaine . De Havilland affirmed that she had always attached great importance to dignity and integrity in her life and that she had therefore never spoken derogatory about other people in public. She would find the series damaging to her reputation. De Havilland sued for damages and a ban on using her name and person.
The competent court dismissed the lawsuit in March 2018, but De Havilland announced that it would involve the American Supreme Court . In January 2019, the Supreme Court refused a hearing. The publication of Feud , for example on DVD or Blu-Ray, was stopped for the period of the legal disputes .
