The sixth ceremony of the US Critics' Choice Television Awards , held annually by the Broadcast Television Journalists Association will be awarded (BTJA), found on 17 January 2016 Barker Hangar at the Santa Monica Municipal Airport in California's Santa Monica instead. The nominations were announced on December 14, 2015. Programs that were broadcast in prime time in the period from June 1, 2015 to December 31, 2015 were taken into account . The ceremony was hosted by comedian and actor TJ Miller and broadcast live on US cable networks A&E and Lifetime .

The previously independent award of the television award (from 2011) was merged with that of the film award (from 1996) into a single award. All categories of the two prizes were continued. The most promising new series category was awarded separately at the beginning of September 2016.
