Rachel Bloom
Rachel Leah Bloom (born April 3, 1987 in Manhattan Beach , Los Angeles County , California ) is an American actress , comedian , singer and screenwriter .
Life
Bloom was born in Los Angeles , California and grew up in Manhattan Beach . In 2009 she completed her acting training at the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University . In 2015, together with Aline Brosh McKenna , she developed the idea for the CW - Dramedy Crazy Ex-Girlfriend , in which Bloom also plays the leading role of Rebecca Bunch . For this role, she was awarded the Golden Globe for best series leading actress in 2016 - comedy or musical .
