Melvin Dimas Rodriguez (born June 12, 1973 in Miami , Florida ) is an American actor who became famous for his roles in the series Getting On - Nasty Old Bones , Better Call Saul and The Last Man on Earth .

life and career

Mel Rodriguez was born in Miami, Florida, where he grew up in the Little Havana neighborhood . He tried his hand at boxing before embarking on an acting career at the advice of his high school teacher after attending a school play at the age of 17. Shortly thereafter, he left high school and received a scholarship with which he graduated from the State University of New York at Purchase . His first role on camera was in 1999 when he appeared on an episode of Law & Order . He then settled in Los Angeles .

Other guest appearances in series soon followed, including Third Watch - Einsatz am Limit , Malcolm mittendrin , Gilmore Girls , New York Cops - NYPD Blue , CSI: NY , Ghost Whisperer - Voices from Beyond , Without a Trace - disappeared without a trace , The Middle , Workaholics , Community , Hot in Cleveland or The New Normal . In addition to his series appearances, Rodriguez has also appeared in a number of films, such as Showtime , Panic Room , Deuces Wild - Wild in the Streets , Garfield - The Movie , Terminal , Three Burials - The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada , Little Miss Sunshine , Happy Fish - shark alarm and fresh fish , Unknown , West of Brooklyn , The Watch - neighbors of the 3rd kind , Brave New Jersey or Captain Underpants - the super great first film .

From 2013 to 2015, Rodriguez starred as Patsy de la Serda in Getting On . In 2015 he took on a small role as Marco in the breaking bad spinoff Better Call Saul , as he was seen in several episodes. Since 2015 he can also be seen as Todd in The Last Man on Earth . In the first season of Phillip K. Dick's Electric Dreams, he can be seen in the 10th episode entitled "Kill Everyone Else" as Philbert Noyce .
