Clayne Crawford (born April 20, 1978 in Clay , Alabama , United States ) is an American actor and director . In the German-speaking countries he was mainly known for a supporting role in the series The Glades (2010-2011), as well as for his participation as a member of the leading cast of the series Rectify . He has worked as an actor for film and television since 1997.

He also had roles in the films Nur mit Dir - A Walk to Remember (2002), Swimfan (2002), Lovesong for Bobby Long (2004) and The Great Raid - Liberation Day (2005).

From 2016 to 2018 he starred as the main actor Martin Riggs in the series Lethal Weapon , which is based on the films of the same name by Shane Black .

Life

He was born Joseph Crawford but changed his name to Clayne in 2000. He secured his livelihood as a construction worker, as his smaller roles in various plays did not generate enough money. Only after the name change came the success in the film business.

Crawford has been married to Sunshine Kiki Brown since 2004 and they have two children, Joe Crawford and Colt Crawford. Abby Brown, who is Sunshine's daughter from a previous relationship, also lives with them on their farm in Birmingham Alabama.

He made bigger headlines in 2018 when he was kicked out of the Lethal Weapon series because he clashed with co-star Damon Wayans several times.
