Damon Wayans (born September 4, 1960 in New York City , New York ) is an American actor , comedian and screenwriter .

Life

Wayans made his acting debut in Beverly Hills Cop in 1984 - I'll definitely solve it . A year later he became a member of Saturday Night Live . In 1988 he played alongside Geena Davis , Jeff Goldblum and Jim Carrey the role of the alien Zeebo in the comedy Zebo, the third from the center of the stars . From 1990 to 1992 Damon Wayans starred in the sketch comedy In Living Color with his siblings Keenen Ivory Wayans , Kim Wayans , Marlon Wayans and Shawn Wayans , for which he won an Emmy in 1990, 1991 and 1992 nominated.

For starring in What's Up, Dad? he won the People's Choice Award in 2002 . He was nominated for the Golden Satellite Award in 2003 and 2005 . Between 2002 and 2005 he was nominated for the Image Award .

In 2018 he was appointed to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences , which awards the Oscars every year.

Wayans was married to Lisa Thorner from 1984 to 2000 and has four children with her. His son Damon Wayans, Jr. played with him on What's Up, Dad? With.
