Damon Kyle Wayans, Jr. (born November 18, 1982 in Huntington , Vermont ) is an American actor , comedian and screenwriter .

life and career

Damon Wayans was born in Vermont and is the eldest son of Lisa Thorner and Damon Wayans . Wayans had his first role in 1994 in Blankman , a film by his father. He also appeared repeatedly in What's Up, Dad? , his father's sitcom . He played the lead role of Thomas in Dance Flick - the very last dance film . Wayans also appeared in a supporting role in the movie The Somewhat Different Cops . In the comedy Marmaduke , Wayans dubbed the animated miniature pinscher Donner . From 2011 until the series was canceled in 2013, he played the lead role of Brad Williams in the sitcom Happy Endings . After the first season of Happy Endings , he was looking for a new role because the series was at risk of cancellation. He was hired as a coach for the comedy series New Girl . Since Happy Endings was extended, however, he left the Fox series after the pilot episode. In the course of the third season of New Girl , he initially returned as a recurring coach before his role was expanded to a leading role for the fourth season.
