action

Jimmy Flaherty and Mike O'Hara are fans of the Boston Celtics basketball team . The opposing team Utah Jazz owes its success above all to the player Lewis Scott. The two fans hate Scott and decide to get him drunk so that he cannot attend training. You pretend to be Utah jazz fans and drink a lot of alcohol with Scott .

Jimmy Flaherty and Mike O'Hara wake up next day next to Scott. They overwhelm him and want to hold him captive so that Scott cannot participate in the final game.

Reviews

James Berardinelli wrote on ReelViews that on closer inspection the film shows more intelligence than one might expect from its "reused" plot, which he owes primarily to the scriptwriters' flair for parody. He has some weaknesses like the "overly happy" ending. None of the three main actors offer a "memorable" performance, but all three would play appropriately.

Jack Mathews wrote in the Los Angeles Times on April 19, 1996 that the basic idea of the film was not bad, but neither Tom DeCerchio nor Judd Apatow put it into practice. Daniel Stern and Dan Aykroyd are not funny enough to overcome the weaknesses of the stereotypical characters played. Damon Wayans seems funnier than the two of them, but the "arrogant, selfish" character he plays seems just as "unsympathetic" as those of his kidnappers.

The lexicon of international films wrote that the film was an "attempt at a comedy in a sports environment, which must be viewed as a failure in all respects and which just seems ridiculous without being funny".

backgrounds

The film was shot in Boston . It grossed approximately $ 9.26 million in US cinemas .
