The series consists of eight episodes in one season, as the broadcaster decided to downgrade the original concept, which was designed for several seasons, to the format of a limited series. The broadcaster offered all episodes of the series from the first day of broadcast for binge watching , while the series was broadcast regularly on a weekly basis.

The series deals with the dysfunctional world of the life of a young ballet dancer. Paul Grayson, head of the American Ballet Company , finds himself forced to find a suitable replacement after an injury to his star Kiira. He finds this in the young Claire Robbins, a young ballerina with an eventful past of poverty and sexual abuse.
