Aden Young (born 1972 in Toronto , Ontario ) is an Australian - Canadian actor . He gained fame primarily through his portrayal of Daniel Holden in the television series Rectify, which was broadcast from 2013 to 2016 .

Life

Aden Young was born in Toronto . His family moved to Australia when he was nine. He made his first acting experience in 1991 in Bruce Beresford's Black Robe - On the Iroquois River . In 1993 he played Doug Papich in Sniper . The following year, Young was seen in Metal Skin , for which he was recognized by the film Critics Circle of Australia in the category "Best Actor". He also received an AACTA Award nomination. In 1996 he was nominated for Best Actor by the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts . In 1997 he met Beresford for the filming of Way Out of Hell Renewed. In 1999 Young made his debut as a director with the short film The Office . In 2007 he wrote the script and directed and produced the fantasy short film The Rose of Ba Ziz . From 2013 to 2016, Young was the main actor in the drama series Rectify , for which he was nominated with the Satellite Award .

Aden Young is dating Australian singer Loene Carmen . They have two sons named Dutch Bon (* 2007) and Chester Van (* 2011).
