The Wahl is a lost moated castle in the district of Berlstedt , a district of the rural community Am Ettersberg in the Weimarer Land district in Thuringia .
history
The castle site, on the north-west corner of the village, is recognizable in the lowland as the rest of a medieval manor castle in the form of a rounded, rectangular elevation. In 1157, 1222 and 1223 as well as in 1240 the lords of Berlstedt were mentioned in a document. As a result of the Thuringian Count's War , the castle was destroyed.
The ground monument is entered in the list of cultural monuments in Am Ettersberg .
