Loene Carmen (* 1970 in Adelaide , South Australia ) is an Australian singer , songwriter and actress .

Life

Loene Carmen has released three solo albums so far and is currently playing live accompanied by members of the bands The Scare , Holy Soul and Bridezilla . She toured and made recordings with The Mess Hall and Warren Ellis . Carmen toured Europe solo in 2006, supporting Mick Harvey .

Carmen's father is the well-known rock, jazz and blues pianist Peter Head . He also played piano in some of Carmen's bands.

Loene Carmen worked as a teenager in a “Kings Cross” pizza bar and was discovered there for the role of Freya Olsen in John Duigan's Australian drama The Year of My First Love . This role earned her a nomination for the Australian Film Institute Award for Best Actress. Other notable roles were Sallie-Anne Huckstepp in the docudrama Blue Murder and Christine in Alkinos Tsilimidos' drama Tom White .

Loene Carmen has two sons (* 2007 and * 2011) with her partner Aden Young . She has a daughter from a previous relationship, who was born in 1990.
