Eric Schaaf (born May 29, 1990 in Bensheim ) is a German soccer player . The left defender , who can also be used in midfield , is under contract with the national league club VfB Gartenstadt .

Career

Schaaf played for FC 07 Bensheim in his youth and joined the youth department of Borussia Mönchengladbach in 2006 through SV Waldhof Mannheim , Eintracht Frankfurt and SV Darmstadt 98 . There he moved up to the second team for the 2009/10 season , for which he played four seasons in the Regionalliga West . In July 2012 he moved to league competitor SC Fortuna Köln , for whom he played 27 games in the 2012/13 season . After the end of the season, Schaaf went to VfR Mannheim and played one season in the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg .

From 2014 Schaaf played for the second team of SV Sandhausen . For the 2015/16 season he was promoted to the first team's squad. On February 5, 2016, he made his debut in a 1-0 home win against SC Paderborn 07 in the 2nd Bundesliga after being substituted on for Leart Paqarada in the 77th minute . At the end of the season he left the club and joined the national division VfB Gartenstadt at the end of August 2016 .
