Randall Park (born March 23, 1974 in Los Angeles , California ) is an American actor of South Korean origin. He is best known for his role as Kim Jong-un in The Interview . He plays one of the leading roles in the television series Fresh Off the Boat . Since the beginning of his career he has appeared in over 120 film and television productions.

Life

Randall Park was born the son of South Korean immigrants. His mother was an accountant at the University of California, Los Angeles , and his father ran a photo shop. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in English from the University of California, Los Angeles. In 2003 his acting career began. He played his first role in 2003 in the short film Dragon of Love, which was named Best Short Film of 2003 at the 2003 Hawaii International Film Festival . He was best known in 2014 for his role as Kim Jong-un in the slapstick comedy The Interview . He is married to the actress Jae Suh Park. They have a daughter together.

In 2018 he was appointed to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences , which awards the Oscars every year.
