Some people - including Charlie Archenault, who has cancer - visit a Los Angeles restaurant . You get caught in a rampage. There are fatalities. The survivors try to process the events they experienced.

The seriously injured Archenault is happy that he survived the massacre. He says he has a lucky streak that he wants to take advantage of by playing in a casino. Dr. Laraby secretly mixes drugs into his wife's food that are supposed to arouse her sexually. Carla Davenport tries to seduce the doctor.

A boy no longer speaks, but his father refuses to take him to the therapist. But he has confidence in Anne Hagen. He only talks to her. Anne Hagen, whose father was killed in the shooting, becomes very religious. But the two have a secret ...

Strong actors from Guy Pearce to Kate Beckinsale to Jennifer Hudson (Oscar for “Dream Girls”) pull out all the stops in the episodically structured story, with young star Dakota Fanning (“War of the Worlds”) as the traumatized daughter and Forest Whitaker as the doomed Gamblers deserve special mention. Luke Y. Thompson derided in LA Weekly on June 25, 2008 that Dakota Fanning was not going to be raped this time. Films like Winged Creatures would come at least once a year - lots of good actors and some who would be more suitable for commercials were involved in a major tragedy that forced them to interact.
