Troy Garity

Troy Garity , actually Troy O'Donovan Hayden (born July 7, 1973 in Los Angeles , California ) is an American actor .

Life

Garity was born the son of politician Tom Hayden and actress Jane Fonda . He is therefore a grandson of the acting legend Henry Fonda , nephew of Peter Fonda and cousin of Bridget Fonda . His maternal grandmother, Frances Seymour Brokaw Fonda, was able to trace her ancestry back to Edward Seymour , brother of Jane Seymours , one of the many wives of King Henry VIII of England. He later took the surname of his paternal grandmother for his film career. His first name was given to him by his parents who were politically active against the Vietnam War in honor of a Vietnamese resistance fighter .

At the age of 16, Garity dropped out of school and traveled to a circus performer he had fallen in love with. Garity has so far primarily played minor roles in movies. In 2004 he received a Golden Globe nomination for the lead role in the television movie Soldier’s Girl . In 2007 he was seen in the film Eichmann alongside Franka Potente and Thomas Kretschmann in the role of the interrogating police officer Avner Less .

Like his parents, Garity is active as a peace activist and in social work .
