action
A small barber shop was the hangout of gossip in downtown Chicago for decades. After Calvin takes over the shop from his father, he doesn't want to continue running the shop and quickly sell it lucratively. With his choice of buyer he meets rental shark Wallace, a seedy man who is well-known in the city and who does not have a good reputation. When his employees and his father's long-standing customers can finally change his mind, it is almost too late because the buyer wants to turn the barbershop into a nightclub.
Reviews
"Sympathetic, relaxed comedy that relies on the pointed verbal exchange of blows within the black 'community'."
