Eric Alan Edwards

Eric Alan Edwards (born August 10, 1953 in Portland , Oregon ) is an American cinematographer .

Life

In 1975 he graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design. Since his time in high school, he has been associated with director Gus Van Sant , with whom he worked on several films. Edwards began his film career as a cameraman in 1979 with the film Property . Since then he has been involved in more than 70 productions, with a focus on motion pictures. Edwards also filmed several music videos for artists such as Red Hot Chili Peppers , Bruce Springsteen , The Afghan Whigs , Meat Puppets , Gloria Estefan , Depeche Mode and Donna Summer .

Edwards and colleague John J. Campbell were nominated for an award for their work on My Private Idaho at the 1992 Independent Spirit Awards .
