So, since he was in the Navy for 20 years, he decides to catch up on his college degree in order to have better opportunities in the future. At East Valley Community College, he quickly befriends his younger fellow students.

At the same college, Professor Mercedes Tainot - who is currently at a rock bottom - teaches a subject in communication. Her husband, Dean Tainot, is spending more time on adult websites instead of working on his new book. She has not found her work as a professor fulfilling for a long time. But then Larry shows up in her course and brings variety to her life. At first she doesn't want to start an affair with one of her students and asks Larry to keep their adventure together a secret. criticism

"Located between social tragic comedy and romantic comedy, Tom Hanks, as director and leading actor, consistently underlines the existential uncertainty of the protagonist, which makes the character all too implausible."

“This is about a simple love story, but the way Hanks captures the US economic crisis at the beginning of the film is phenomenal and says more on the subject than 'Company Men', which is completely devoted to the situation. What follows after that is above all an acting exchange between Hanks and Julia Roberts, who are here together again in front of the camera after ' Charlie Wilson 's War '. As a romantic comedy, the film doesn't have too much new to add to the genre, but it is still pleasant to watch. "

“Unfortunately, the fine, highly topical basic idea of his recession romance gets lost in the banal, characters and humor are too shallow, and a setback-free departure to realistic problems follows too smoothly. The message of the American dream, of the energy and happiness of the capable, is waning to an economic soap opera. "
