Gary Goetzman

Gary Goetzman (born November 6, 1952 in Los Angeles , California ) is an American film producer and actor .

Life

Gary Goetzman began his film career as a child actor in Los Angeles. He took on his first roles in the mid-1960s. So he was seen in American divorce in 1967 . From the 1970s he mainly took on smaller roles; up to and including 1993 was involved in almost 20 productions.

In 1984 he produced his first film with the concert film Stop Making Sense by Jonathan Demme . Together with Tom Hanks he founded the production company Playtone , with which he produced films from then on. They met in 1993 while working on Philadelphia , where Hanks played the lead role and Goetzman was executive producer .

Goetzman has won the Emmy four times so far , most recently in 2012 for Game Change - The Sarah Palin Effect , in which he was involved as executive producer.
