Balance of Power is the twelfth studio album by the British band Electric Light Orchestra (ELO).
background
Balance of Power was listed at number 18 in the German album charts and number nine in the British charts . In the United States, the album reached number 49 on the Billboard 200 .
The cover of the album (design: Michael Hodgson) is colorful: The three letters E, l and o (the abbreviation of the band name) are printed on a red background in blue, yellow and turquoise. The back is designed identically with the difference that - in addition to the title list - the three letters are shown on a yellow background in turquoise, red and pink. The well-known ELO spaceship is no longer shown on this cover.
On the inner cover, the lyrics are only printed in lower case letters. It is in turquoise and white and shows the band members Jeff Lynne, Bev Bevan and Richard Tandy in monochrome blue / white.
Also in 1986, a maxi-single with the same design called Calling America appeared on the A-side. On the B-side, next to the title Endless Lies, there is the song Caught in a Trap (3:44 min.), Which is not included on the LP .
