The Night the Light Went On (In Long Beach) is a live album by the British band Electric Light Orchestra (ELO), which also includes cover versions of foreign titles such as B. Includes " Roll Over Beethoven " by Chuck Berry and "Daytripper" by the Beatles .

background

The album was recorded on May 12, 1974 in Long Beach . Fittingly, palm trees and a neon advertising sign with the abbreviation of the band 'ELO' and the album title as well as a red traffic light at the bottom of the picture are shown on the cover of the album against a blue sky. Some letters of the album title are highlighted in red: HGEWT ON G BE CH - there is no apparent meaning.

On the plain back there is only the title list, the lyrics are not included.

The first edition was published by Warner Brothers , the cover of this first press was under the heading " The ELECTRIC LIGHT ORCHESTRA in " the album title in large, comic-style red and yellow letters. At the bottom of the picture a crowd in blue and yellow storms in front of you glaring yellow light from it. The back of the hinged cover has a more elaborate design, inside there are photos of a live performance.
