On the Third Day is the third studio album by the British band Electric Light Orchestra (ELO). It was where the first album The was obviated the band's name.

On the Third Day could not reach the charts in Great Britain , but was listed at number 52 in the USA.

A photo of Jeff Lynne was originally used for the cover of the album. The US version, however, then showed a group photo of the entire ensemble in black and white: You can see Mike de Albuquerque, Richard Tandy, Mik Kaminski, Jeff Lynne, Mike Edwards, Bev Bevan and Hugh McDowall.
