Jonathan Stevens Jackson (born May 11, 1982 in Orlando , Florida ) is an American actor , musician and songwriter .
Life
Jackson was born in Orlando, Florida , in May 1982 to a doctor and a housewife. He has two older siblings: his brother Richard Lee Jackson is also an actor, and his sister Candace Jackson Mayhugh is a lawyer.
Jackson has been married to actress Lisa Vultaggio since June 21, 2002 . The couple have two sons and a daughter. The family lived in Los Angeles and Washington state until they moved entirely to California in 2009 . In 2012 the family entered the Orthodox Church .
Career
General Hospital
From 1993 to 1999 Jackson played the role of Lucky Spencer, son of the couple Luke and Laura Spencer in the television series General Hospital . He remained connected to his serial parents, the actors Anthony Geary and Genie Francis , even after he left. Jackson has been back in his usual role since 2009, after the character had been played by Jacob Young (2000-2003) and Greg Vaughan (2003-2009).
other projects
He has also appeared in feature films since 1994 and became known to a wider audience through the drama Deep Like the Ocean , in which he plays the son of Michelle Pfeiffer . He also had major success through leading roles in Dirty Dancing 2: Havana Nights and the film adaptation of Stephen King's novel Riding the Bullet . From 2012 to 2018 he played the role of singer, songwriter and producer Avery Barkley on the country music series Nashville .

Together with his brother Richard Lee Jackson he plays in the band Enation. Jonathan is the band's lead singer, writing many of the songs and playing the electric guitar . Individual songs are also used in films and series in which he participates. One of the biggest appearances the band had as part of the USC concert, which hosted the youth series One Tree Hill to honor American troops in Iraq . Before Enation he had the same functions in the band Scarlet Road, in which his brother Richard also played his father Ricky Lee Jackson and his uncle Gary; Scarlet Road released an album called Clash (1997).
Awards
For his role in General Hospital , he was nominated six times for a Daytime Emmy Award and received the award in 1995, 1998 and 1999 as "Outstanding Young Actor in a Drama Series". He was also nominated three times for a Young Artist Award for the same role .
