action
Beth Cappadora and her husband Pat experience the greatest fear of every parent when they lose their three-year-old son Ben in a crowded hotel lobby. The panic and exhausting search for him ends unsuccessfully; Beth suffers a panic attack a little later. Unable to deal with herself, she begins to neglect her other children, Vincent and Kerry.
After nine years, the family finally seems to have accepted their child's unexpected disappearance. A boy who looks unusually related to Beth appears in front of their house and offers them to mow the lawn on their property. Beth is convinced that the boy who introduced himself as Sam is actually her son. So a little later she started researching the Internet. It turns out that Ben was kidnapped by a mentally ill woman, a former classmate of Beth's. This woman raised Ben like her own child until she died. Taking Ben back into the Cappadora family seems to have failed for the time being.
When the problems between Ben and the Cappadoras get too big, the family decides to give him back to the adoptive father. One night, however, Vincent finds Ben outside playing basketball. Ben finally forgives Vincent, who was blamed for the disappearance of Ben at the age of five.
