Ulu Grosbard
Ulu Grosbard (born January 9, 1929 in Antwerp , † March 19, 2012 in Manhattan , New York ) was an American theater and film director .
Life
The family emigrated to the USA via Cuba. Grosbard began his theater career and enjoyed great success on Broadway . He first came into the film business as a production manager and assistant director before directing his first film in 1968.
In 1995, Grosbard was awarded the Grand Prix of the Americas for his film Georgia at the World Film Festival . He was also at the Independent Spirit Awards in the category Director Best nominated.
