Krysten Alyce Ritter (born December 16, 1981 in Bloomsburg , Pennsylvania ) is an American actress , author and former model .

life and career

Ritter was discovered in a shopping mall by a talent scout from Elite Model Management . She then worked as a model on the catwalks of New York , Milan and Paris and shot commercials . She also trained as an actor in New York. In 2001 she gave up modeling in favor of her acting career.

In 2001 Ritter had her first small film role in a men's circus . After a guest role on Law & Order in 2004, she received a recurring role as Gia Goodman on the second season of the television series Veronica Mars . She had other recurring roles in Gilmore Girls and Marriage is… . She was also seen in the films 27 Dresses and Love Vegas .

In 2009 she took on the role of Jane Margolis in the second season of the series Breaking Bad . In 2012, she starred alongside Alicia Silverstone , Sigourney Weaver, and Malcolm McDowell in Amy Heckerling's dark romantic comedy Vamps - Dating with a Bite in front of the camera.

Ritter played a leading role in the comedy series Apartment 23 , which premiered on ABC in April 2012 , but was canceled during the second season. The series, which received a Critics' Choice Television Award as the most promising new series in June 2011 , was also broadcast in Germany by ProSieben from February 28, 2013 .

From November 2015 to June 2019 she starred in the series Marvel's Jessica Jones .

Ritter has been in a relationship with Adam Granduciel , leader of the indie rock band The War on Drugs , since 2014 . Their son was born on July 29, 2019 in Los Angeles.
