The 64th Golden Globe Awards , presented each year by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) for film (14 categories) and television (11 categories), took place on January 15, 2007. In Germany , the gala was broadcast live on Tuesday morning, January 16, from 2 a.m. to 5:10 a.m. on the private broadcaster ProSieben .

The most successful film won three awards from Bill Condon's musical adaptation Dreamgirls . Nominated five times for a Golden Globe, the film with Jamie Foxx and Beyoncé Knowles won in the categories of best film (comedy or musical) and the two supporting actor categories ( Jennifer Hudson and Eddie Murphy ). Close behind with two awards is Stephen Frear's drama The Queen . Leading actress Helen Mirren was , as expected, best actress in a drama, while screenwriter Peter Morgan was honored for his film script.
