Gil Kenan (2007)

Gil Kenan (born October 16, 1976 in London , England , Great Britain ) is an Israeli-American director . He was the director of Monster House , a computer-animated thriller from 2006.

Director Kenan won the UCLA Spotlight Award for his live action / animation horror - fantasy short film The Lark . For this film he also received an award from the Creative Artists Agency (CAA). Kenan also received both the British Academy Fellowship and the 2001/02 Lew Wasserman Fellowship for Film Production in 2001/02 . Following on from Monster House , Kenan started working on City of Ember , an adaptation by screenwriter Caroline Thompson of the book of the same name by Jeanne DuPrau , for Walden Media and Playtone .

In 2015 his remake of Poltergeist (1982) was released.
