Golden Globe Award : Best Young Actress

Winner and nominee in the category of best young actress ( New Star Of The Year - Actress ), who honored the most outstanding acting performances of the past calendar year from 1948 to 1983. Well-known names like the future Oscar winners Shirley MacLaine and Jane Fonda , Kim Novak , Anita Ekberg , Natalie Wood , Tippi Hedren , Ann-Margret and Mia Farrow are among the winners . The US-American Carol Lynley (1959 and 1960) won the only double nomination . In 1957, a one-time separate prize for the best young foreign actress ( New Foreign Star Of The Year - Actress ) was awarded, which was won by Taina Elg from Finland .

In 1962, an actress from German-speaking countries was successful for the first time: Christine Kaufmann received the trophy together with Ann-Margret ( The Lower Ten Thousand ) and Jane Fonda ( The Longer - The Better ) for their work in the English-language film production Stadt ohne Pity , while Cordula Trantow ( Hitler ) received a nomination. Both followed in 1964 with victories of the Swiss Ursula Andress ( James Bond chasing Dr. No ) and Elke Sommer ( The Prize ), while Nastassja Kinski was successful in 1981 with the title role in Roman Polański's Tess .
