Aranka Jean "Goldie" Hawn (born November 21, 1945 in Washington, DC ) is an American film actress and film producer . Especially in the 1970s to 1990s, she was one of the most popular Hollywood stars . She won an Oscar and a Golden Globe for the film The Cactus Blossom . She is the mother of actors Kate and Oliver Hudson .

Family and personal life

Goldie Hawn was in Washington, DC , the daughter of musician born Edward Rutledge Hawn and his wife Laura Steinhoff. The presumption that her father is a direct descendant of the signatory of the American Declaration of Independence Edward Rutledge was refuted in 2014; a relationship is possible, however. Her mother's parents, Max Steinhoff and Fanny Weiss, emigrated from Hungary to the USA for reasons of faith . Hawn has a sister; both were raised in the Jewish faith .

Hawn was married twice. In 1969 she married Gus Trikonis; the marriage was divorced in 1976. From 1976 to 1979 she was married to Bill Hudson. With him she has two children, Oliver and Kate Hudson, who is also a sought-after Hollywood actress. She has a son, Wyatt Russell, born in 1986, with Kurt Russell , with whom Goldie Hawn has been dating since 1983 .

Career

Goldie Hawn began as a cast member on the television sitcom Good Morning, World in 1967-68 . Soon after, she became famous for her role as the "stupid blonde," which she played from 1968 to 1970 in the Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In sketch series . At the end of the 1960s, she became one of the first so-called It girls : She was equally known as an entertainer and ideal of beauty. Hawn was able to cement this reputation in many popular film comedies .

She made her film debut in 1968 under the name Goldie Jeanne in the musical The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band with a small role as a dancer. A year later she became internationally known at the side of Ingrid Bergman and Walter Matthau in Die Kaktusblüte ; the role of Toni Simmons brought her an Oscar in 1970 and the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress.

1970s

In addition to her dramatic performances in The Girl from Petrovka and Sugarland Express , Hawn established herself in comedic entertainment films such as A Girl in the Soup , The Robbery of the Millions , Butterflies Are Free and Shampoo (with Warren Beatty and Julie Christie ). She has also appeared in television specials such as Pure Goldie , The Goldie Hawn Special (with George Burns , Shaun Cassidy and John Ritter ), and Goldie and Liza Together (with her friend Liza Minnelli ). Other films like Who likes to swallow blue beans? or A very crooked tour (with Chevy Chase ) was very successful commercially. In 1972 she also tried briefly as a singer. The LP Goldie (1972) for Warner, however, flopped.

1980s

Goldie Hawn founded her own production company, with which she celebrated a huge hit in 1980 with the comedy Sagittarius Benjamin (with Eileen Brennan and Armand Assante ). For her performance in this film, Hawn was nominated for a second Oscar for Best Actress, which went to her colleague Sissy Spacek for her role in Nashville Lady .

Further commercial successes followed with Almost Like In Old Times , Two Big Friends , Swing Shift - Love for Time , Protocol - Everything dances to my tune , American Wildcats and Overboard - A goldfish falls into the water (with Kurt Russell), the Goldie Hawns cemented international popularity as a film star. In January 1985, Hawn posed for Playboy .

1990s

After three years, Hawn returned to screen alongside Mel Gibson in A Bird on a Wire in 1990 . Except for Deceived and Crisscross Survival in Key West , she still stuck to comedic film productions such as Housesitter Lies Have Beautiful Legs (with Steve Martin ), Death Suits Her (with Meryl Streep and Bruce Willis ), and The Devil Club ( with Diane Keaton and Bette Midler ), which received favorable reviews. In 1996 she appeared on the side of Alan Alda , Drew Barrymore , Julia Roberts and Woody Allen in his musical comedy Alle haben: I love you .

1997 Hawn was one of the signatories of an open letter to Chancellor Helmut Kohl , the behavior of the German state against the Scientology sect with the persecution of Jews in the Nazi era compared. The letter was printed in the International Herald Tribune and caused great outrage in Germany.

Since 2000

After the failures of Insomniac in New York and City, Country, Kiss , Hawn didn't get a positive response again until 2002 when she starred in Groupies Forever with Susan Sarandon . After appearing as a guest speaker in an episode of the cartoon series Phineas and Ferb in 2013, Goldie Hawn returned to the big screen in 2017 after a decade and a half alongside Amy Schumer and Joan Cusack in Mädelstrip .
