Shaun Paul Cassidy (born September 27, 1958 in Los Angeles , California ) is an American pop singer , actor and television producer . In the late 1970s he was an international teen - idol .

Life

Cassidy is the eldest of three sons of actors Jack Cassidy and Shirley Jones . He attended high school in Los Angeles.

Following the example of his half-brother David Cassidy , he started a career as a singer and teen idol in 1976 . His single Da Do Ron Ron , the cover version of a song by the Crystals , rose to number 1 on the US charts in 1977 . The covered tracks That's Rock 'n' Roll and Hey Deanie (Original: Eric Carmen ) also made it into the US top ten in the same year. Cassidy's most popular song in Germany was That's Rock 'n' Roll , which landed at number 14 on the single charts . Between 1976 and 1978 he received three Bravo Otto's from the German youth magazine Bravo .

1978 Cassidy was next to Parker Stevenson leading actor in the television series Hardy Boys , of which several seasons were produced for the broadcaster ABC . In 1993 he made his debut next to his half-brother David and Petula Clark in the musical Blood Brothers (dt. Blood Brothers ) on Broadway in New York .

Shaun Cassidy has since concentrated on writing and producing television series and founded Shaun Cassidy Productions. For Columbia Broadcasting System (CBS) he produced the fantasy series American Gothic , the crime series Cold Case - No victim is ever forgotten and the espionage series The Agency - In the crosshairs of the CIA , for American Broadcasting Company (ABC) science fiction Series invasion .

Cassidy has been married to producer Tracey Turner for the third time since August 28, 2004. He has six children, two from his first marriage to model Ann Pennington and one from his second marriage to actress Susan Diol. Three are from the third marriage.
