Ann Turkel
Ann Kathryn Turkel (born July 16, 1946 in New York City , New York ) is an American actress and former model .
Life
Turkel grew up in Manhattan and studied at the Musical Theater Academy. At the age of 16, she was discovered as a photo model by a Vogue employee and was featured on the magazine's cover shortly afterwards. After that, she was booked for advertisements by companies like Revlon and Chanel . In 1968 she appeared in the comedy Paper Lion with Alan Alda and Lauren Hutton for the first time in a small supporting role in a feature film . In 1974 she got a major supporting role alongside Richard Harris in John Frankenheimer's action film König Ballermann , for which she was nominated for the Golden Globe Award as best young actress . In the same year she married Harris and as a result both starred in several films together, including Meeting Point Death Bridge and Rendezvous with Death .
In 1982 the marriage was divorced. Turkel was a guest star in various television series such as Fantasy Island , Knight Rider , Love Boat and Street Hawk in the following years . She was also seen in various television films and played the title role of Modesty Blaise in the pilot film of the same name , which was not realized as a television series. Most recently she had a small supporting role in Tony Scott's science fiction film Déjà Vu - Race against Time in 2006 .
