Mary Laurence "Lauren" Hutton (born November 17, 1943 in Charleston , South Carolina ) is an American actress and former model .

Life

Hutton began studying at the University of South Florida in 1960 , from which she graduated from Tulane University in 1964 with a Bachelor of Arts .

Despite a small tooth gap between the incisors, she succeeded in starting a modeling career at the Ford Modeling Agency after graduating in 1964 . Thanks to her subtle erotic charisma, she became one of the most sought-after and best-paid photo models of the 1970s. She was featured on the cover of Vogue over 25 times , whereupon she was offered a lucrative contract by the cosmetics company Revlon Cosmetics , which she turned down.

Nevertheless, she had achieved a certain degree of popularity and soon she was also receiving film offers. In the 1970 film drama Stromer der Landstrasse , she starred alongside Robert Redford . For this role she was nominated for a Golden Laurel in 1971 .

In the 1980 thriller A Man for Certain Hours , she played one of the bigger roles alongside Richard Gere . She starred alongside Jim Carrey in the 1985 horror comedy Once Upon A Bite Please .
