Kay Lenz (* 4. March 1953 in Los Angeles , California ) is an American actress . She is also known as Kay Ann Kemper .

Life

Kay Lenz began her acting career as a teenager in the late 1960s in American television series. She played on the Andy Griffith Show , among others . She got a small role in the cult film American Graffiti by George Lucas in 1973. In the same year she played her most important leading role in a movie. As Breezy in encounter in the morning she played alongside William Holden under the direction of Clint Eastwood and received a nomination for the Golden Globe Award for Best New Actress . In 1987 she starred in the action film White in the Eye . She became known to German audiences through the role of Kate Jordache in the television saga Reich und Arm . For this role she was nominated for an Emmy Award . She received the award in 1989 for her work in the series Der Nachtfalke . From 1977 to 1982 she was married to the US entertainer David Cassidy .
